Modern food ordering kiosks can provide optimized food recommendations and detailed user analytics using state-of-the-art face recognition technology.

The solution was tested and set up during a large McDonald’s conference, which attracted a lot of interest. For us, it was an excellent opportunity to explore just one small part of the enormous promise that artificial intelligence and machine learning will bring to humanity in the future. While we do recognize this incredible potential, we are also mindful of two crucial elements.

Artificial intelligence and challenges

The first one is the ethics of AI and ML, as well as people’s privacy. All our efforts should value, recognize, and respect those. The purpose of technology is to make our lives healthier, more comfortable, simpler, and more enjoyable. But that shouldn’t mean that we have to sacrifice our complete privacy.

The second crucial element is the importance of user experience design for advanced and AI-powered systems. Be it a chatbot, smart kiosk, virtual assistants, or something else, the ways we interact with AI-powered apps, devices, and solutions are deeply engaging. New UX and HCI paradigms are already emerging and will continue to do so in years and decades ahead. It is up to us in the tech and design community to be accountable stewards of this progress so that no one is left behind.

And while we are grateful for being featured as one of the top 15 best case studies and thankful for being selected as one of the leading product development and design agencies, we are aware that we are just starting.
